Happy Valentine's Day!

I love making my own Valentine's Day cards. This year I took to Pinterest for inspiration and pulled out the CTMH Heartstrings paper packet to make some cards.

I love this little fox and the "Be Mine?" bubble from Jillibean Soup Pea Pod Parts Heart Healthy Red ephemera pack. The {Cutie} card is also from the CTMH Heartstrings Picture My Life line. My nephew will love this card.

I made this card for my husband. We both grew up in the 80's and made mixed tapes! Love it! I used the CTMH Heartstrings paper again and the ephemera from Jillibean Soup. I also added a bit of shimmer trim from CTMH.

I like to send Valentine's Day cards to my sisters too. This one is going to my sister-in-law and her husband. They just purchased a new home in January. The sentiment is perfect. The 3x4 card is from the CTMH Heartstrings Picture My Life set which coordinates with the paper pack. I added a feather, a chipboard heart, and some enamel dots too. 

Skylark cards

I love the Skylark paper packet from Close To My Heart. The colors are soft and the patterns are classic! I used the front and back of one sheet to make these cards.

The top part of this card is the "hero" paper from this collection. I added the "Believe in Yourself" sentiment in Desert Sand ink. The bottom part of the card is the pattern on the back side of the "hero" paper. Add a few embellishments and you are done!

On this card, I also used the "hero" paper but I added one of the 3"x 4" Picture My Life cards from the Skylark collection.

Cards are so easy to make when you start with such beautiful and versatile materials!

Won't you Bee Mine Valentine?

Valentine's Day is less than a week away so I am busy in the craft room trying to finish my cards so I can get them in the mail. This is my favorite so far.

The patterned paper is "Sweetheart" from the Reminisce My Sweet Valentine collection. I used Ruby and Twilight card stock and ink from Close To My Heart. The CTMH "You Are My Happy' alphabet was perfect to spell out "Honey". The "Bee Mine Valentine" image is from the Valentine Tags set by Jillian Vance. The suede flower is the finishing touch from Maya Road.

Time to get back in the craft room!

Happy New Year!! Now that the holiday season has come to a close, I was able to take some time to get my craft room organized and make some cards!

My niece's birthday and wedding anniversary are both on the same day in January, so I made two coordinating cards using the Laughing Lola Cardmaking WOTG kit G1064.

I started with the birthday card. I used Gypsy, Lagoon, and Black card stock along with Black ink. The sentiment is from the stamp set that comes with the kit. The  arrow and flourish/flower chipboard shapes are from the Laughing Lola Complements Dimensional Elements X7170C. I used Liquid Glass Z679 to attach the chipboard for good adhesion. To finish it off, I added Black Shimmer Trim Z1809 and added a gem from the Black & Grey Sparkles Assortment Z1754.

I used many of the same supplies for the anniversary card. I added some Aqua Dots Z1853. The sentiment is from the You Are My Happy stamp set (retired).

Make your own Christmas cards!

I have been making birthday cards and cards for many other occasions for many years, but I have never made my Christmas cards. I usually send out about 60 cards so that is quite a commitment to make them all. But this year I did it!! Rather than making 60 identical cards, I opted to make several designs.

I used the Sparkle & Shine paper pack X7176B for this one along with the Remarkable Wreath stamp set C1473. The sentiment is from the stamp set in the Frosted Cardmaking WOTG G1063. I finished it off with Silver Shimmer Trim Z1799 and I added a few Bitty Sparkles Z1263 on there too! The ink and cardstock colors are Ruby, Juniper, Slate and White Daisy.

For a less traditional color palette, I used the Frosted paper packet X7175B. I used Twilight, Bamboo and Colonial White cardstock along with Twilight ink. The sentiment is also from the Frosted Cardmaking WOTG G1063. The Burlap Ribbon Z1760 added a rustic touch and the Clear Sparkles Z1752 provides some glam.

I still had some of the Pear & Partridge paper (retired) from last year, so I created this beauty! The stamp set is Merry & Bright C1510. I used Cranberry and New England Ivy cardstock and ink. I just love the Bronze Shimmer Trim Z1849.

And lastly, I used the Believe paper packet (also retired) for this winter card. I cut the snowflake using the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge Z1686 and used the coordinating Snowflakes stamp set D1480 along with Crystal Blue ink. The sentiment is from the Perfect Fit - Holidays stamp set B1412.

I'm so happy I was able to make all 60 cards this year!! I hope I can do it again in 2014!!

Greatest year ever!

I am blessed to have one of my beautiful nieces nearby attending Boston College. She just returned for her senior year and also recently celebrated her 21st birthday. The sentiment on this card works for both this milestone birthday as well as her final year in school.

The long 4th of July weekend would not be complete without some sailing here in New England. The Tommy paper packet and coordinating stamp sets are perfect for nautical themed cards. Here are a few I came up with for a recent card swap.
